Recientemente se ha hecho famosa la noticia relacionada con la detención de Pavel Durov, el fundador de Telegram, El señor Durov fue puesto a disposición de las autoridades debido a que la plataforma ha sido cuestionada por no compartir información de los chats de ciertos usarios con el gobierno francés, esto debido a que hay abiertas varias investigaciones relacionadas con el crimen organizado.
Si bien es cierto que hay grupos radicales, conspiracionistas, criminales, pedófilos, etc... Que pueden estar usando este tipo de comunicación encriptada, también hay millones de personas que no tienen nada que ver con este tipo de actividad.
Con lo cual entramos en el dilema de privacidad/derechos a la anonimidad online, durante años han habido intentos de violar la privacidad online ejemplo: Francia aprueba una ley que permite la vigilancia masiva en Internet sin orden judicial.
Pienso que todos tenemos el derecho a la anonimidad online así como también en nuestras vidas privadas, el hecho de que se quiera coartar este derecho deja mucho que pensar sobre nuestros gobiernos, muchas veces he escuchado el comentario "A mi no me importa que sepan todo lo que hago online, no tengo nada que esconder", opinión que respeto pero que no comparto ya que todos tenemos derecho a tener nuestra privacidad, esto no quiere decir que estoy escondiendo nada o que soy partícipe en grupos radicales, significa que es información privada de mi propiedad y que no quiero que nadie vea, se podría comparar con compartir tu diario personal con el gobierno porque simplemente no saben que estás escribiendo en él.
Tristemente veo como nuestros derechos (muchas veces constitucionales) van mermando a través del tiempo sobre todo porque hay menos oposición a este tipo de imposiciones, ya sea por desconocimiento, ignorancia o falta de implicación.

I think we all have the right to anonymity online as well as in our private lives. The fact that this right is being restricted leaves us with a lot to think about regarding our governments. I have often heard the comment "I don't care if they know everything I do online, I have nothing to hide." This opinion I respect but do not share, since we all have the right to our privacy. This does not mean that I am hiding anything or that I am a member of radical groups. It means that it is private information that is my property and that I do not want anyone to see. It could be compared to sharing your personal diary with the government because they simply do not know that you are writing in it.
Sadly, I see how our rights (often constitutional) are diminishing over time, especially because there is less opposition to this type of imposition, whether due to ignorance, lack of knowledge or lack of involvement.
